Women face technology head-on in India

India’s healthcare market is estimated at $100 billion in 2015 and it will grow to $280 billion by 2020 due to digital technology. Digital healthcare is fast growing in the country as numerous startup companies are focusing on medical care, treatment plans, diagnosis, and delivery of quality services.

The Indian government introduced the ‘National Healthcare Standards Organization’ (NHSO) which provides the standards needed to measure the quality of medical services delivered and administered to patients. Moreover, this technology has paved way for the invention of advanced health systems that provide high-quality care and improve the patient experience.

Women are utilizing digital technology by using smartphones to send voice and text messages to other women living in rural areas in India informing them about maternal health.

Indian women are enrolling in Information Technological courses in the country with an aim to understand the dynamics of technological programs in improving healthcare for women and children in the country.
